12/11/2013-Reviewing just about anything in the IT world, NiKK Tech recently took a look at the revolutionary Thecus® N2560. Designed for the home and SOHO segment, this 2-bay packs in a lot to impress. At least this is what NiKK Tech clearly thinks after awarding the N2560 a Gold Award!
The long list of PROS from NiKK TECH:
Overall Build Quality
Good Performance (Speed/Temperature/Noise Levels)
2GB DDR3 RAM
3 USB Ports (2x USB 2.0 / 1x USB 3.0)
T-OnTheGo DDNS Android/iOS App
A good NAS can be described as one that is pleasant looking, sports great hardware and offers services that meet the needs of its users. So did NiKK Tech think the Thecus® N2560 managed to check all these boxes?
“So specs-wise, at least, the N2560 seems to be on par with devices that cost almost twice as much…”
“The first thing that surprised us with the N2560 was its size, which for a 2-bay solution was quite small. Thecus didn't stop there though because the second surprise was that they equipped it with an Intel Atom CE5335 1.6GHz Dual Core CPU.”
“A single 10.9GB file was uploaded and downloaded to and from the NAS unit in this test. With speeds reaching almost 88MB/s in read and almost 83MB/s in write the N2560 is amongst the fastest 2-bay NAS servers we've ever used.”
“The Thecus N2560 NAS Server is a small yet solid device with good performance across the board… the fact that Thecus has thought of giving users a DDNS so they can access the device from anywhere in the world is also very positive.”
So there you have it, a small NAS that has it all! “Bottom line, for its performance, low noise levels, low temperature levels, size, looks, and media connectivity (HDMI/SPDIF), the Thecus N2560 NAS server grabs our Gold Award.”
Thanks to NiKK TECH for the great review!
