01/04/2013 – The TopTower series is well-known to produce performance speeds like no other, especially with the Intel® Pentium® CPU and 2GB of RAM which helps with quick response times. Real World Labs based in the US conducts a thorough test and comparison on the N6850, results is positive. A key area where the N6850 shines is its 6-bay for a total of 24TB of storage capacity; the NAS is designed for SMB where 6-bay provides large amounts of space powered by Intel®.
Further highlights include HDMI output, USB 3.0 and Touch panel for ease of use. Most importantly, the TopTower N6850 supports 10GbE PCI-e card for rapid transfers.
It's significant that the TopTower NAS is powerful, with the ability to create advance RAID modes, bottlenecks are eliminated. Real World Labs simply states, “With this power, advanced RAID levels such as RAID10 or RAID50 can be enabled and won't suffer from CPU lag: not only is your data more secure, but transfers are even faster!” Real tests and benchmarks express that the N6850 is pure performance.
From a different perspective, since we spoke on performance levels and how well the N6850 performance, we'd like to note that the N6850 has virus protection backed up by McAfee Antivirus. In short, the N6850 along with its older siblings, the N8850 and N10850 offers superfast file transfers, HDMI output for multimedia, and McAfee for virus protection. In closing, “With this Thecus has successfully launched one of the fastest NAS boxes to roam the 6 Bay NAS arena.”
