11/30/2012 – All Thecus® network storage devices are characterized by their flexibility and rich functionality. In the recent review of the Thecus® N2800 from the Vision series, Foxnetwork paid special attention to such unique functions as the HDMI output and Local Display module: “Of course, we didn't forget about the function of a media-player that is implemented in the N2800 network storage. This model is equipped with an HDMI port with the help of which the device can transmit images and sound to a modern TV, home cinema or any other player. To start working with HDMI one has to install add-ons. For instance, with the help of the Local Display add-on the user can display an image on the screen; however by default the only available things will be a browser and a command line to manage the NAS. To see media-data on the storage you'll need another module – XBMC”.
Foxnetwork was very satisfied with the N2800, especially by its performance: “We were quite content with the Thecus N2800 network storage that we tested. It showed the best performance results among two-bay storages that we've ever had in our lab. The feature of using this device as a media-player also adds to its attractions.”
In the end of the review, Foxnetwork pointed out the N2800's strong characteristics, such as HDMI-port, the possibility of anti-virus check of stored data, high data access speeds, a large number of possibilities of user data backup, the possibility of stacking storages, a slot for connecting SD/SDHC/MMC cards, and the possibility to manage the storage via HTTP and HTTPS.
