06/30/2012 – Getting good reviews is nothing out of the extraordinary for the Thecus® N4200Eco. After receiving many honors from different countries, the Thecus® NAS receives another title, this one from Overclocking Station in Germany with the Top Hardware award.
After starting to test the N4200Eco, the German media instantly recognized some of the NAS best qualities. “In general, it must be said that the settings are very easy, even for beginners. The menu, which can be changed in German and is self-explanatory, is, as opposed to other systems, not particularly complicated.”
As the author also point out: “Many additional features are installed from modules, including the media server Twonkey. The volume of the built-in fan is quiet. Although audible in a silent room, the sound volume is not unpleasant. Even if used in the living room next to a TV, the noise emitted from the NAS is not unpleasant.”
The round-up from Overclocking Station speaks for itself: “With the N4200Eco Thecus has released an interesting NAS solution for home users as well as for companies. The quality of the unit is fine. The material used for casing and the hardware were selected according to high standards of quality. Everything is cleaned up on the housing and the arrangement of buttons or displays is well thought out. The displays allow users without a PC to read current status of the drive. The buyer will receive a fully developed product, both in hardware and in software.”
Here are some merits attributed by the author:
Good software package
Space for four hard drives
Comprehensive range of functions
