09/25/2012 – Taking place in a comparison style round up of 30 NAS held by the Italian magazine CHIP, the N4200Eco proves again it's excellent designed by leading the way in the category of the 4-bay NAS. Scoring 100% for its material and 97% for its performance, the N4200Eco is truly a well-designed machine that will meet everyone's need!
“The Thecus N4200Eco is a device from a manufacturer in the professional field that is positioned at the first place.”
Intel® Atom™ processor
No matter what type of user you are, nobody wants to be left behind waiting for their data. Home and SMB/SOHO users can rest assured that this won't happen as the N4200Eco is equipped with a powerful Intel® Atom™ processor and 1GB of DDR3 RAM ready to handle multitasking and heavy RAID computing.
The N4200Eco has a few tricks under its cover to help you save a few bucks on your electricity bill. For example, up and down time of your NAS can be easily managed. Using the power management tool, you can schedule your NAS to turn on or off at a specific time, reducing its power consumption when the NAS is not needed. Additionally, if your disks are not solicited, the spinning speed of your HDD can be turned down automatically to a minimum. Disk spin down can be easily set by the user to reduce once again the overall power consumption of the NAS. The user can finally have peace of mind with disk spin down and power management automatically controlling the watt consumption of the NAS.
The N4200Eco is equipped with not one, but two separate displays. Without the need to connect to your NAS UI over a computer, you can directly see critical system status from the LCD module and change various system settings using the colorful 2.8" OLED module.
The full review can be found in the September edition of the CHIP Magazine.
