09/21/2012- Two exciting devices are launched into the NAS industry at the Thecus® Press Event that was held on September 2012. The guest that attended the press event consists of mainly media and a few distributors. Western Digital representatives were present to express the value of WD Red HDD paired with Thecus® NAS.
At the Thecus® stand, the new 7-bay N7510 was on live demo presenting local display and multimedia playback. The 1U rackmount N4510U draws attention by reaching up to 16TB HDD, powered by an Intel® Atom™ processor. In addition, the hot selling 5-bay N5550 was current at the press event which absorbed much spotlight from media. Lastly, the high performance TopTower 6-bay N6850 was put on view to remind attendees that Thecus® caters to SMB and SME sectors, powered by Intel®.
As mentioned, WD was present at the press event and showcased the WD Red HDD that was designed exclusively for home and smaller SNB NAS use. Thecus® NAS are fully compatible with WD Red HDD devices which escalate efficiency when it comes to choosing hardware.
Besides presenting on the two NAS releases, Territory Manager Steven Mu presented on the rich features of ThecusOS 5.0, which was released prior to the press event. Attendees were intrigued about daisy-chaining the N16000 with D16000 NAS, in addition expanding volume via 10GbE switch. On the 10GbE note, High Availability, better known as HA was briefly touched on for the attendees that aren't so aware of the magnificent feature.
The press event was a success, two NAS system from Thecus® were released and WD spoke on the values of using WD Red HDD with Thecus® NAS. Intel® initiated co-op during the press event as well, a video was presented to the guests with a special message on personal cloud powered by Intel®. Towards the end, Thecus® and WD had the opportunity to reach and meet every media and distributor to answer questions and commence opportunities.
