08/06/2012 – Famous Russian tech site iXBT just published a new review “High performance network storage device Thecus® N2800”. The tested NAS was carefully examined from all sides and offers such sections as external look, hardware features, setup process, external devices, additional functions, and performance.
As always Thecus® is praised for its hardware, which offers wide possibilities for expansion and connection of various external devices: “It has rather powerful hardware platform, USB 3.0 and eSATA ports, standard PCIe slot for low profile expansion cards and VGA and HDMI outputs.”
Lots of potential NAS users first look at performance numbers, and the N2800 will not only satisfy advanced home users but will also please small companies.

As for the functionality, iXBT mentioned how easy and convenient it is to use external modules via Web-interface: “Using 4 (virtual) cores of the processor @2GHz possibilities are endless. In particular, it's worth mentioning cloud modules, mail server, data base server, backup modules, media server, and antivirus module”.
In the end of the article iXBT expressed the things they especially liked about this device: “This model has a powerful set of features which allow for great memory expansion. USB 3.0 port allows to expand disk space without sacrificing speed and is also very nice to have. HDMI port also attracts attention.”
