12/05/2011 – Laptopworld has been NAS-crazy for a while now, recognizing the massive adoption of NAS in both the home and SMB markets. They recently tested the N4200PRO with good results and wanted to take a look at the 2-bay model from Thecus. After a thorough review, they had a lot of great things to say about the NAS.
The Thecus N2200XXX is faster than the competition: “...this small 2-disk NAS does really well with when it comes to transfer speeds. With write speeds respectively 65MB/s and 60MB/s Raid 0 and Raid 1 on Synology DS211 with 62MB/s and 53MB/s, it has really solid performance.”
The Piczza! Photo Server is a great addition to the Thecus software arsenal: “The Piczza! image server module is a module with independent interface for easy creation of photo albums, and good opportunities to subsequently publish these on the net.”
The hardware is ready for anything: “All in all a very well equipped NAS, with good opportunities for connecting both front and back.”
