People gathering around the W8900 live demo
08/26/2011 – The Microsoft Server Seminar was held on August 25 in the Westin Taipei. Microsoft provided a strong itinerary, with Taiwan's leading server/storage solution providers demonstrating their latest products and providing seminars on new hardware, software, and technologies. On popular demand, Thecus released a brand new Windows Server NAS named W8900 featuring the 2nd Generation Intel i3 Dual Core @ 3,3GHz, 8GB of RAM, 10Gb Ethernet, and SAS support.
The Seminar was the occasion for Taiwanese distributors to know more about Windows Servers solutions. Three keynote sessions have been made: one about the opportunities of server appliances by Venu Subramanyam (Microsoft Windows Embedded Business Senior PM), another was mentioning the W8900 “From Digital Cloud to Enterprise Cloud” by Jesse Lin (Microsoft Windows Embedded Business Partner Technology Manager), and the last one was about Supermicro's outlook on Cloud Computing.
