09/28/2011 – PC User Australia has reviewed Thecus's 2-bay performance NAS for home users, the N2200XXX. After testing and comparing to other devices in the NAS market, they gave it a rating of 85% and the magazine's Best Buy award and finished with a strong conclusion: “Fast speed, tough built and a truckload of features.”
PC User compared the Thecus N2200XXX with the 5-bay N5200XXX, which they had previously tested: “…it's tough and well-featured, and effectively the two-bay version of the N5200XXX (see PC User Australia's July issue, page 12) minus the alphanumeric display.”
PC User stressed the competitive sides of the Thecus N2200XXX: “As for functionality, it's right up there with the QNAP TS-219P+ and Synology DS211; in some ways, it exceeds both with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, a built-in eSata port and three USB 2.0 ports.”
Since many photographers and designers choose this storage unit, its logical that it accomodates their needs: “It also includes an SDHC flash card reader – press the Copy button and it'll copy the contents of the card to your NAS storage, making it fast and easy to back up to RAID 0,1 or JBOD storage.”
The full review can be found in the October 2011 edition of PC User.
