09/21/2011 – Motherboards.org got another look at one of Thecus's top NAS units, the N5200XXX, and as always, Thecus didn't let them down! Throughout their thorough analysis, the N5200XXX impressed Shane N., Motherboards.org's NAS expert, with its speed and functionality.
He began by discussing the N5200XXX's use in the workplace:
“…This 5 bay NAS unit is a really great product for any business that needs to keep their information safe. It definitely can hold enough information coming equipped with up to 15 TB of storage space. And it comes with many features that will definitely keep the integrity of your information.”
He also stressed that the N5200XXX demonstrates extreme speeds, which make this storage device very competitive in the NAS market: “The Intel Atom D525 processor runs at 1.8 GHz and definitely makes this NAS unit faster than most of the competition. It also comes with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM which means amazing transfer speeds and less time waiting for you.”
As an SMB NAS, the N5200XXX is expected to have very reliable data backup, and the N5200XXX provides just that: “Securing your data has never been easier and more protected with the features provided by Thecus. Scheduled backups and recoverable data from Acronis's True Image Software allow you to revert to previous configurations of the system if need be. This allows you to go back to a certain time with your information and recover lost files or other hindrances with your information.”
He wrapped up with a to-the-point conclusion: “This NAS product is definitely a great device to keep your information safe and ensure fast transfer speeds across the board”.
