07/29/2011 – The Thecus N4200PRO fell into the hands of motherboards.org and came out with a couple of impressed testers and their “Hot Product” award. With simple setup, great performance, and Thecus's Mini-UPS backup battery, motherboards.org went on to call it “a great buy”.
Of course, ease of setup is important: “The installation and setup of the device was quick and easy.”
Motherboards.org was impressed with the N4200PRO's performance: “This particular NAS unit comes with a dual core Intel CPU that delivers amazing response and can handle multiple clients efficien tly. Multiple computers can download and access the N4200PRO and it will still run incredibly fast. I tested with three computers that were accessing and downloading files at I was still able to get around 90 to 100 MB/s.”
The Thecus-exclusive backup battery adds a lot of value: “The addition of an extra battery pack is a great investment for Thecus in this device because it allows this device to have impenetrable data integrity. Power outages are a scary issue that can corrupt all your files and wreak havoc on your system. With the addition of the battery pack, the N4200PRO will stay on even if the power goes out.”
All in all, the N4200PRO got a strong stamp of approval: “The N4200PRO is a great storage device for small businesses and offices...The dual power setting also allows your information to almost never have the chance to be corrupted or loss.”
