While putting together their annual NAS buying guide, they spent some time researching the market and speaking to those in the know to get a well-rounded perspective on the present state and future of NAS. In order to help consumers make an educated choice in a market brimming with NAS producers all trying to steal the limelight, they came to Thecus to see what it took to go from the #3 to the #1 NAS specialist worldwide(1). They were very happy to interview Thecus GM Florence Shih to get the inside scoop.
First a small introduction by Cachem.fr: “Thecus (“storage” in Latin), is one of the specialist of Networked Attached Storage (NAS). Their products have been many times awarded and their quality is proven. Thanks to partnerships with big names in the industry, for instance Intel, Thecus managed to create innovating products in term of functions and performances”.

Here are some handpicked quotes about new products: “[The XXX series] should allow us to bring at least the same amount of performances for a lower price than our competitors.” She went on to mention the latest in performance: “Our new Firmware V5 has been designed to run natively on those products, and we're very excited by the upcoming performances with more than 100MB/s in reading/writing.”
After briefly speaking about V5 improvements, Florence explained a bit more about how our strategic partnerships with companies such as Intel, Acronis, Netavis, and TwonkyMedia allow us to bring the best experience to our users: “So, in order to bring to our users the best and up-to-date experience, we've decided to establish some strong partnerships with well-known software editors.” She talks a bit more about our recent partnership with Netavis “This way we can provide very quickly a state-of-the-art recording solution while focusing on what's making us good: innovative storage solutions.”
