01/10/2011 – Thecus has found a myriad of ways to make the N4200 rise above the rest. Convenience and ease of use are must-haves, and going beyond that with advanced functionality and accessibility is what convinced PC World of Spain that this is a great NAS. It had such a strong impact on them that the N4200 won the roundup with very high marks and received the distinguished 5 Stars Award!
Some of the most standout features of the N4200 are the ones protecting your data: "The N4200 has some interesting distinguishing features compared to other models tested. First, disk access is done from the front by convenient trays protected by lock and key. If a disk fails, it can be replaced with hot swapping. Another unusual feature is the presence of a battery that serves as backup power. If the power fails, the NAS will be powered by the battery, avoiding crashes."
A flexible NAS is a NAS that lasts. The N4200 has convenient expansion and access for now and later: “The N4200 has no less than six USB 2.0 ports that can connect the storage drives or printers, leaving two of them on the front for greater accessibility. It also has two eSATA that will give us more speed and more suitable for permanent capacity increases. In addition, the NAS can also manage up to 20 security cameras.”
The Thecus UI provides the perfect access point to your NAS; powerful, simple, and localized: "…the web interface is very comprehensive and intuitive and is fully in Spanish."
