08/12/2016 – Roberto Jorge’s YouTube channel delivers unboxings, reviews and opinions on a wide array of devices & gadgets. Roberto’s reviews all have English and Portuguese versions. His latest review of Thecus’ N2810 is a definitely worth the watch.
From the very start, Roberto gets down to the basics concerning the N2810. “In terms of the build quality, it feels solid with a metallic enclosure that looks like a mini computer[…]A thing that is important to me is backups, this NAS provides local backups, USB backups, remote backups and a cloud backup option […] I could achieve read and write speeds in Raid 1 and Raid 0 from 100 to 110 MBs.”
With a quick conversation with Support, Roberto further optimized the device. “The fan noise when I first got it was OK, but not perfect. I need silence in my office. The good news is that I contacted support, and within a few hours I had a solution which was a firmware update. With this you can select between three modes in relation to fan speed, one of these are options is dead silent. This selection will have the fan running at only 700 to 1000 rpm, which causes the N2810 to be dead silent.”
When providing a final conclusion about the N2810, Roberto was overwhelmingly positive. “The things I liked the most is that it is dead silent, it has back up options in all back up modes. Fast support from Thecus, plus fast read and write speeds, plus it can be used as a multimedia player. In regards to this NAS from Thecus, I don’t have anything I don’t like about it.”
Thanks to Roberto Jorge for this review.
