After explaining the basics of NAS and especially the Thecus N2810, the video shows installation and operation of the NAS with two hard drives. “The installation of the drives is simple and quickly done. The data transfer rates reach around 120 MByte/s which is the maximum speed of Gigabit Ethernet and of the drives.” The new ThecusOS 7.0 gets a good look, too. “The new operating system is easy to use, even for beginners regarding its structure and feature set. At the same time it offers experienced users enough configuration options like user management, Snapshot support for backups and multiple monitoring features to watch over the NAS. Overall, the ThecusOS 7 leaves a good impression.”
The 4K playback gets its own chapter in the video. “Thecus calls the N2810 a multimedia NAS server with 4K support. Well, playback of 4K material with a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor sounds strange – but it works and that has really impressed me. With the SMPlayer you can playback any media like a 4K video – without stuttering and without problems.”
In the end, the new NAS gets very good grades in this video review. “Thecus N2810 – a NAS with 4K support – and we have seen that this works without problems. All in all, the N2810 is a very good device, from the usability to the build and the image quality. The upgrading possibilities are also very solid. Overall I can really recommend this NAS with 4K support.”
