04/08/2016–ComputerBase is one of the leading online magazines in Germany and has just reviewed the brand new Thecus N2810 NAS with the also new ThecusOS 7.0. And to get to an important point: the operating system has left a very good impression with them. “Overall, ThecusOS 7.0 is definitely a considerable and proper step forward.”
But the hardware knows how to impress, too, especially during data transfer. “The Thecus N2810 can position itself in the top group of all the candidates with its high read and write speeds.” Here the Intel Celeron N3050 inside the N2810 pays off because of its hardware support of AES encryption. “The transfer rates with activated encryption are impressive, too. The write speed sets a new record for all the 2-bay NAS and is approximately twice as high as the [Synology] DS215+.”
And so the conclusion is overall very positive. “Thecus does a lot of things right with the N2810. The hardware is up to current standards, the case is well done and the new operating system ThecusOS 7.0 is a real improvement. The transfer rates – especially in real-life tests – are very good. With activated encryption the NAS can even set new records. In this regard the N2810 surprises favourably.”
