08/17/2015- Windows-based software on Thecus NAS has recently caught a lot of attention around the world. The team at IXBT, one of the leading media-company in Russia, has taken a very detailed look at the Thecus W4000+, one of Thecus Windows NAS.
IXBT started the review with positive comments about packaging and external design of W4000+, highlighting its robust construction and high-quality built. Special consideration was given to the mounted SSD. To have Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials on a separate SSD, according to IXBT, is a very unique solution from Thecus. The temperature tests ran by IXBT showed an excellent cooling system which keeps all the hardware cool and fast running.
The W4000+ is the first NAS running on Windows to be reviewed in the IXBT lab. “A few of the many advantages of running Windows software on a NAS include such services as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and WINS, as well as support for Data Deduplication, BitLocker and Storage Spaces.”
This series is very suitable for those companies and organizations who widely use Microsoft software and applications and would like to take advantage of additional Microsoft services related to data management, storage and cloud solutions, as they fully integrate with the devices.
