04/24/2015– C't is one of Germany's most popular print media when it comes to the IT-world. First released in 1996, C'T prides itself in providing the latest IT news. This time C't had the chance to test two Thecus Windows NAS, the W2000 and the W4000. Let's find out what they have to say!
The new Windows NAS by Thecus are focused on Soho/SMB users. “Especially in smaller companies the admins prefer to use energy saving NAS, but those devices oftentimes do not have sufficient functions such as user administration via Active Directory. To close this gap, Thecus provides a compact x86 network storage with Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials pre-installed on an SSD. These devices are able to handle up to 50 clients.”
With Thecus revamping the WSSE NAS with a PLUS version that includes 4GB RAM, users are given an added bump in memory and performance. “The W2000 and W4000offer a solid entry Windows server solution for network storages.”
Thanks to Peter Klan and the rest of C'tteam for a great review!
