07/09/2014-The experts of Hardware.Info have been conducting a test series of 4-bay NAS rackmounts. As renowned reviewers of IT hardware, they have expanded massively and now have subsidiaries not only in their home country of the Netherlands, but also in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the US.
For their latest review, they gathered eight 4-bay rackmounts for a testing series - as such articles have gained in popularity recently. So let's see how the Thecus N4510U PRO-S keeps up with its competitors.
Hardware.Info's editor praised the well-designed hardware layout of the Thecus N4510U PRO-S: “Integrated in the front panel are two USB 3.0 connectors. On the back you'll find four USB 2.0, one HDMI, one VGA, and of course 2 network ports for link aggregation. The processor is an Intel Atom D2700 with 2 GB RAM - a combination that certainly makes promises of excellent performance for storage applications.”
The benchmark tests showed very positive results as well. The Thecus N4510U PRO-S earned a very well deserved 2nd place in the 10GB write and even was the fastest in the 10 GB read tests with a 2x drive / 2x Gigabit configuration.
Hardware.Info closed its review by awarding the Thecus N4510U PRO-S the Silver Award: “If you look at the price, you will not have to spend a lot for the Thecus N4510U-S, and it is a much faster and more complete than other NAS in its category.”
