10/19/2009 – Powerful and compact, the tiny Thecus® N0204 is making huge waves in the hardware community. In their October 2009 issue, SVM Magazine took a close look at the N0204 and found out just how flexible it can be. With the same functionality of NAS units many times its size, the N0204 miniNAS is a marvel of engineering, and SVM saw it fit to award it a final score of 4 out of 5!
Here's what SVM editors had to say about the N0204: "Very compact, the N0204 miniNAS accommodates two 2.5" drives to a network share on any type of data. Configured as RAID 0, the two volumes combine their capabilities (up to 1 TB) to appear as a single disk. In RAID 1, data is recorded simultaneously on each disk as a mirror to avoid any loss. Connected to the LAN through its Gigabit Ethernet jack, the Thecus is quickly located and initialized by a utility (for download). It serves iTunes and is DLNA compliant to share music, photos or videos of all the machines on a network. We find the functions of a true NAS: FTP transfers, scheduled BitTorrent downloads, and direct copy of USB disks is all available."
